The Stories of Our Lives
Posted: May 23rd, 2010 | Author: Joe | Filed under: shorts | No Comments »I have lived a hundred lives. As each died I breathed one last time into it’s frigid, closing air marveling at the speckles of ice crystals formed from my exhale. Like diamonds twinkling in the sunlight, these crystals lit up, dazzled and shimmered and danced in that frozen moment. The crystals fell one by one. The light went out. Act 1 ended.
Awake!
A new life! Breath in the warm spring air and exhale joy. Life is here! Spring is here so dance! Revel in this new chapter of our lives with new characters, new plots and wild adventures. Act 2 promises more love, more pain, more life! You’ll be out of breath before it’s over.
And so the cycle of our lives continue. We live a little, die a little and turn the page. The last breath sighs in a dimming light moments before the thunder of a new beginning rolls in.
I have read a hundred pages. As each page turned I sighed one last time only to see yet another page waiting to be read.
